Care & Repair Edinburgh began as an Age Concern project in the 1980s, created in response to a growing need for practical support to help older and disabled people remain safe and independent in their own homes. From the outset, our focus has been on providing straightforward, reliable help with essential repairs, maintenance, and home improvements.
Over the decades, we have grown into a trusted local charity, supporting thousands of Edinburgh residents each year. Our services have evolved to meet changing needs, from installing handrails and key safes to delivering specialist advice and practical solutions that help people return home safely after hospital stays and continue to live well in their own communities.
Throughout our history, our mission has remained the same: to help older and disabled people live independently, with dignity and confidence, in the homes they love. We are proud of our heritage, our skilled staff and volunteers, and the partnerships we have built across the city.
As Edinburgh’s population changes and the need for support continues to grow, we remain committed to adapting our services and making a positive difference for generations to come.
